Handwoven cotton asks for slightly different care than a mill-finished shirt, and the difference is mostly about heat and agitation.
Wash cold, by hand or on a gentle machine cycle, and turn the garment inside out first. Hot water tightens the weave unevenly and can pull a hand-joined seam out of line. Use a mild detergent and skip fabric softener — it coats the fibre and dulls the surface that makes aso oke worth wearing.
Never tumble dry. Lay the garment flat or hang it in shade; direct sun will fade the dyes, particularly the orange and pink. A damp garment hung on a wide hanger will drop most of its creases on its own.
Iron on the reverse at a medium setting, with a cloth between the iron and the fabric if you are pressing a seam. If a strip joint ever loosens, send it back to us — repairs within the warranty period are on the house.
